Competitor research
I researched similar festivals within Australia to understand how the product offering is constructed. I discovered that Festival Fleurieu is fairly unique in its variety of events offered (multiple categories). Most websites acted as a resource hub for the festival, and the apps allowed engagement during the festival. This reinforced the need for an ongoing website that is available all year round. It was noted that in the festivals that did not offer this as well, there were difficulties in understanding what was available.
Next steps
I felt that a mobile app would allow a personalised experience for attendees, and the website will need to serve a separate purpose of encouraging donations and providing information.
